Carrier Screening provides information regarding the parents’ genetic background and how their children may be impacted. By knowing each parent’s genetic risks, families can understand the possibility of a child being affected by certain hereditary conditions.
With our REVEAL™ testing, a simple saliva collection is used to provide an accurate determination of carrier status for over 160 genes. These results are reported back to you within approximately three weeks.
A negative indicates that you are not a carrier for a specific mutation.
A positive result indicates that you are a carrier for a gene. While this is not a diagnosis of an illness, it gives an indication that any of your children may be affected. It is also important to then determine if your partner is also a carrier.
